Acquired in 2016 by Daniel and Alfredo Merlo, this small farm located at the top of Luján de Cuyo is the place we chose to build our winery. The combination of rich soils, proximity to the mountains and altitude, impact on powerful but very elegant wines. This farm is managed organically.
Name: Finca Los Merlo.
Location: Las Compuertas, Lujan de Cuyo, Mendoza.
Cultivated area: 5ha. Altitude: 980 meters above sea level.
Planting year: 1995.
Density: 4000 plants/ha.
Yield/ha: 5000 kg/ha.
Type of Irrigation: Mantle.
Soil Type:Mostly clay loam and rich in organic matter.
Management Type: Organic in transition.
Destination of the grape: Biolento, Rebelión.
Acquired in 2009 by Matías Fraga, this estate was the one that gave rise to the first MAAL wines. It is located in Alto Vistaflores, on the triple boundary between La Remonta, Los Chacayes and Vistaflores, just below the Clos de los Siete. The Malbecs from this area are characterized by their deep violet colors and marked floral notes and fresh herbs.

Location: Alto Vistaflores, Valle de Uco, Mendoza.
Cultivated Area: 20ha. Altitude: 1150 meters above sea level.
Planting year: 1989/2006/2009/2013.
Density: 4000 plants/ha.
Yield/ha: 10000 kg/ha.

Soil Type: Of alluvial origin. deep. Loamy-sandy, with some stones.
Management Type: Organic in transition.
Destination of the grape: Bestial, Imposible, Rebelión.


This particular farm was planted in 2011 on the banks of the Tunuyán River, the dividing line between Campo Los Andes and Paraje Altamira. The rocky and sandy slopes, poor in organic matter, lead the plants to produce a great small grapes with great concentration, which results in powerful and fresh wines with marked notes of fresh cherry.

Location: Campo Los Andes, Valle de Uco, Mendoza.

Finca El Zampalito belongs to our Facundo Azzoni, so we consider it our own. Its atypical plantation orientation (East-West) and the great thermal amplitude of the area make this estate the ideal place to obtain a Malbec that can be harvested with very good acidity and freshness.
